Children in Indian Child Care Institutions (CCIs), often from backgrounds of neglect or abuse, face trauma and inadequate support. Despite 4 Lakh students in 10,000 CCIs, 98% are understaffed and poorly maintained. Education is crucial for breaking the poverty cycle, but 84% drop out before class 12 due to inappropriate placement and lack of support. This highlights the failure of CCIs to provide holistic development.
